Lessons from playtesting
Since the last update, I've been playing Beneath myself and also have had the chance to guide a good friend through his first Delve.
I was very happy to see him weigh the many decisions and systems he encountered, and boy, was I happy to get some feedback (friendly reminder for you to submit any thoughts you may have through link on the main game page)! :D
- The new system for logging how probable Patrols are has some fun side effects - mainly, Patrols alerting other Patrols if you're not careful.
- Readability changes improves how to go about determining the procedures for Ascending or Descending into new and previously visited Levels.
- Combat Actions have been made clearer, and Incite and Intimidate have been made a little bit weaker, but simpler (removing a Boon tier for bringing the Foe to 75% Damage. Fractions beyond 1/2 is something many don't want to handle...)
The new Eavesdrop Opener can now only be done once per Foe (to avoid Clue farming).
There are also quite a few changes to the main Tables section, both for readability and pure game mechanics (see the Hag).
Hopefully, the Reference Sheet at the end is now a bit clearer and gives a little more info on e.g. Foe Types.
All the best to you, and happy Delving!
